JOURNAL

1. Firstly we would like to address the word Jewellery or Jewelry?

Being an Englishman, and one likes to think of oneself as an English country gent, you know the fellow, three piece tweed suit, tattersall check shirt and a tie. Or, if one is feeling particularly daring, then a cravat, you get the idea. Then, of course, jewellery would most definitely be proper.

However, some chums of mine who run a jewelry emporium out of Mexico that used ‘jewellery’, subsequently changed to ‘jewelry’ after discovering much improved sales and Google search results after making the change to ‘jewelry’.

Being a web-only business, and one that ought to take into account making a profit to stay afloat. So, henceforth we will be using jewelry, which, upon looking at the two words, one has to admit, even through gritted teeth, does indeed make more sense phonetically. If you are staunchly English and you take offence at the use of the word jewelry, my sincere apologies.

Apparently, as I produce Jewelry I ought to be journaling about Jewelry, which would seem obvious.

But, I have to admit right now that thinking about, finding and generating original, interesting, and dare I say, entertaining content including images on a regular basis will not be an easy task, as one does have another life, one that involves children.

How much should you spend on the engagement ring?

Also, there is a plethora of Jewelry blogs on the internet, and just about every Jewelry shop has a website that explains assay marks, or hallmarks, including British assay marks.

The aforementioned shop sites also have articles on ‘how much should you spend on the engagement ring’ and ‘how to choose your engagement ring’ and ‘what to look for in a diamond’ et cetera.

As I am not currently making or producing the engagement ring type of jewelry, there appears to be little point in covering ground that has been covered many times already.

Apart from gold, which we will address in another article and..erm..the ‘how much should you spend on the engagement ring’ which was a phenomenal piece of marketing from the 1920’s or 1930’s, as was diamond marketing from around the same time.
